LNER Class Y7 0-4-0 Tank | |||||||||||||
PROTOTYPE. 19 members of this class were built by the NER as class H, with a further five being added by the LNER for dockside and light shunting work. 12 were sold during their long lives to industrial users. |
A number of the class rose to fame working on the North Sunderland light railway. Two locomotives lasted into BR days and two are preserved. KIT. This was the first loco kit I produced in 1989 and has proved to be a popular kit at an attractive price. A number of examples have been seen operating on exhibition layouts by their satisfied builders. The main body and chassis components are etched in brass. |

In 2013 the casting moulds were completley worn out and so the opertunity was taken to refurbish the kit. New moulds provided an increased selection of crisp and clean castings. A new 38 page instruction booklet with step by step digital photos of a complete kit build was produced. |

These improvements have moved the standard of the finished model up a level and I am still very pleased with my first loco kit design. |

Downloading the instruction booklet will allow you to evaluate the kit and its construction and help you to determine its suitability for yourself and your project. The booklet is made up of two parts :- |
These are individual A4 sheets that identify and number in assembly order all the etched parts and have photographs of each casting, identifying them by name and listing the quantity of each. |
I would recommend downloading and opening these sheets first as it will be almost as exciting as opening the real kit box and handling all the parts. |
The booklet is designed to print as two A5 pages printed on each side of an A4 sheet of paper (set printer for landscape). Staple the A4 sheets in the centre and fold to form an A5 booklet. |
Print each A4 page individually (set your printer for current page only). Then print the first pdf page containing booklet pages 1 (front cover) & 36 on an A4 sheet of paper. Turn the printed paper over and print the second pdf page containing booklet pages 2 & 35 on the other side. Then on another sheet of paper print the third pdf page containing booklet pages 3 & 34 and so on until you reach the booklet centre pages 18 & 19. |
