Legacy Kit
LNER Class J69/1 "Buckjumper"
This kit was first produced in 1991. It was an honest, best effort at the time and much appreciated by many satisfied modellers, many were newcomers to 0 Gauge.

Time passed and modellers expectations became more sophisticated along with the range of kits available.

This legacy kit was retired from production for many years. But now its back with a level of extra casting detail that modellers now expect for locos on their layouts. Instructions detail how legacy issues can be addressed with simple hand tools to get the best from the etched components.

We Are Confident Modellers Will Be Delighted With The Results

Below is my model built from the original kit in 1991 and finished as the 1959 Liverpool Street pilot.
PROTOTYPE. The 20 locomotives produced in 1904 as works order S56 were the final variation of 0-6-0 tank loco built by the GER that became classified as J69/1 by the LNER. No 8619 had become the regular Liverpool Street East Side pilot engine in 1948 and was specially painted in LNER green livery, and always kept in first-class condition. It later gained BR mixed traffic black, but in 1959 it was repainted GER Blue.

If these are desired as an alternative to the wire wiper pickups that are included in the kit. I would recommend the type produced by Slater's and provision is made in the kit chassis for fitting these (Slater's Cat No 7157).
